Happy Father's Day!

I'm totally lovin' these "honor thy father/mother" days on our calendar! It is a joy to celebrate these days with my husband, and also it brings back wonderful memories of making homemade goodies for my dad as a kid.

I love my dad...the other day I was watching Cam lay on the floor of our living room playing with his matchbox cars and I had a very strong sense that he know what it feels like to be safe and secure in a loving home. No wonder my father worked so hard while I was growing up, just like my husband is doing right now. He worked every day, hard and true, so that when he came home he could look at his children laying on their living room floor playing with toys unaware of the harshness of the outside world. There are no words to thank you dad, for your unselfishness and sacrificies that you made every day for all of us. And now that we are all grown up, you know what you've taught me? To do the same for my children...to create a safe haven for them every day of their lives, just like you did for us. When they come home from school, they will come home to a mother who is able to teach and provide for them because of what you taught me. I am eternally grateful for your knowledge and love that you've passed on...I love you so much Dad!

And to my wonderful husband...this picture says it all...you pull up your sleeves, you get down and dirty, you sit on the floor playing games for hours with our children, you teach and mold our boys with such love and strength, you pour champange at my sister's wedding when no one asks you too...just because that's who you are. You are willing and kind and I love you so very much...

I am so thankful that these hands are mine to share this wonderful life with and I thank you today for being the best Father to our family- you're truly an amazing provider and man!
